Dear Friends,

Retina India is organising two  photography workshops  for the
visually impaired. Its a two day workshop and is being conducted by
experienced  trainers.

Goa Center for Alternative Photography
The Goa - Center for Alternative Photography is an artist initiated
conservative art space dedicated exclusively to photography
and aims to become professional and comprehensive platform for the
promotion of alternative photography Art in India.

NAB Mumbai and IAVH are supporting the workshop  by providing their
premises for holding the workshops.


Dates: Workshop one - 6th and 7th september
workshop 2 - 8th and 9th september
Eligibility: persons with partial to total visual impairment above the
age of 12 years.
Number of participants: ten per workshop
Workshop fee: Free
Equipment: cameras and films will be provided for use during the workshop.

The program:

2-day workshops for the visually impaired

Day 1

10-1 p.m. Camera technicality
How to hold and use the camera.
(Getting familiar with flash, shutter release &
lens)

1-2 p.m. Lunch time

2-6 p.m Field work
How to take a single and a group portrait.
(Listening carefully to your subject can guide
where to place the camera)
Experimenting with close-ups of your subject.

Day 2

10-1p.m. Field trip to a city park
Exploring "tactile" photography
(Touching flowers, grass, trees,
based on the tactile experience click the photographs)

1-2 p.m. Lunch time

2-5p.m. On the city streets
Exploring "audio" photography
(Based on the different noises, sounds,
voices of the city, compose your shot)

5-6 p.m. Discussion and exhibition of the developped
photographs.

Some of the best pictures may be displayed at the Hotel Taj West end
Bangalore during the retina week.
