Subject: Retina India monthly meeting in Delhi
Retina India Delhi is flagging off its monthly meeting with an
interesting topic: what are the challenges persons with visually
impairment face in terms of education, training and job opportunities.
Dr.Jitendra Agarwal, whose SARTHAK educational trust is doing an
incredible job in training and placement of persons with visual
impairment in Delhi, will address the meeting. If someone becomes
visually impaired due to retinal conditions, is there a possibility of
them getting training and finding a job? The meeting would throw more
light on this question and many others on the subject. Details below:
Date: May 29
Venue: DU-NTPC Training Centre, Tutorial building , Arts Faculty
building, University of Delhi, Delhi - 7.
This Arts Faculty Gate is opposite the Shri Ram College of Commerce
gate, take a left. To reach the venue, if you are taking the metro,
you can get down at Vishva Vidyalaya Stn and this bldg is abt 1 km
distance from the metro station. If it is a bus, get down at Vishva
Vidyalaya bus station, again abt 1 km distance.
Time: 5.00 pm
RSVP: Mrs. Sudamani Venkatesan- 99100 71897
Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting, including people with
retinal ailments, their family members, friends/relatives, volunteers
who are working in the field of disability, or who wish to work in the
field. People with other eye problems are also welcome to attend,
since some of the projects that Retina India will undertake, working
alongside other organizations in the field, will be of help to them
too. There will be a brief introduction of Retina India and what the
organisation stands for. The meeting will also discuss the work that
can be taken up by the members in Delhi. There will also be a short
discussion on the current treatment options for some of the diseases.
We will welcome the attendees' suggestions of what they expect from
Retina India, what would they want the organization to do in the short
term as well as in the long term.
