New Phones by Nokia, Samsung, LG

Guess it's that time of the year for phone
manufacturers to come up with newer phones and
updates.

To begin with, Nokia has announced the launch of its
3120 Classic, which has basic functionalities. The
phone features a 2-inches QVGA display, a 2 mega
pixels camera, music player with 4GB memory, and is
available in a range of colors: Plum/Powder White,
Chestnut Brown, Deep Red, and Graphite. The Nokia
3120 Classic costs $220 minus taxes.

The company has also announced an update for its N82
handset. The phone will now be available in Black
color with an unlocked status. It will sport regular
N82 features, including a 2.4-inches 16M color QVGA
TFT display, HSDPA with video calls and quad-band GSM
support, and 100MB of integrated memory along
with a microSD memory slot. In addition, it features a
5 mega pixels auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics
that promises 30fps MPEG4 videos at VGA resolution,
plus a TV-out port.

More from the Nokia stable: a camera-free variant of
the
Nokia E51
. The company has introduced this model, keeping those
corporate houses in mind that do not allow cameras in
their premises. Excluding the 2 mega pixels
camera, the new E51 retains all its other features.

All said, our Indian friends who want the Black N82
and other updates will have to wait because this offer
is available only in the US as of now.

Moving to the LG stable; the company has unveiled its
new touch slider, the KF510. The phone is 10.9 mm
thick, and comes with a 3 mega pixels auto-focus
camera and a touch-sensitive navigational keypad. It
uses an 'Interactive Touch Lighting' feature on the
navigational pad below the display, hence it's
also called the "Touch Lighting Phone".

The LG KF510 will be showcased for the public at the
'Mobile World Congress 2008' at Barcelona. It is
expected to hit markets in the West by March this
year.

Also, Samsung has announced two phones targeted at
women last month: the L310 and the L320.

The Samsung L310 is a Black-and-Gold clamshell and
sports a 1.8-inches TFT display with a resolution of
176 x 220 pixels. It includes a 2 mega pixels camera,
MP3 player, Bluetooth, and USB v2.0 connectivity.

The Samsung L310 is a tri-band phone with dimensions
of 93.4 x 44 x 17.9 mm. It has 20MB of internal memory
that can be expanded via the built-in microSD
card slot. It comes with applications developed
keeping women in mind -- shopping lists, fragrance
types, and calories consumption.

Meanwhile, the Samsung L320 is supposed to be the
successor of the Samsung E570. It has a rounded
clamshell design, and comes with a 1.9-inches TFT LCD
main display with 176 x 220 resolution, and external
OLED.

The phone sports a 2 mega pixels camera, USB v1.1, and
Bluetooth v2.0. There are special applications for
women even in this handset.

The new Samsung phones are expected to be available in
select markets this month onwards.
