Hi mamtaji,
The cache is defined as a smaller, faster memory which stores copies
of the data from the most frequently used main memory which is called RAM.
In other words In other words it is used to reduce the average time to
access main Memory.
When the processor wishes to read or write a location in main memory, it
first checks whether that memory location is in the cache.
If the processor finds that the memory location is in the cache, the
processor immediately reads or writes the data in the cache.
In short a computer without cache means very slow computer even though
RAM is present, it is considered slow as compared to those machines which
have cache. I hope it helped to know the concept of Cache.
